The Sturgeon Banks Natural Area is a tidally influenced salt marsh that is a rich habitat zone along the western reaches of Richmond. This area provided habitat for waterfowl, migrating birds and fish species, including juvenile salmon. Recreational opportunities include bird and wildlife watching and nature photography. There is limited public access to this area as there are a few unimproved trails. Access points are off of multiple points along the West Dyke Trail.
Please note that this area is sensitive habitat. Visitors should stay only on any existing trails or observe the Banks from the adjacent West Dyke Trail.
