Stay active and work out using a wide range of equipment at any of the City's nine drop-in community fitness centres. Hours of operation and fitness services may change or be cancelled on statutory holidays. Visit a specific facility fitness centre below for details.

The Fitness Add-On Fee will apply when using a valid membership to attend a fitness centre at a facility other than where the membership was purchased.

The Minoru Centre for Active Living features a bright and spacious Fitness Centre with expansive views of the aquatic centre and outdoor track.

This 8,500 sq. ft. space comes equipped with:

  • 35+ cardio machines including: treadmills, elliptical and cross trainers, rowing machines, step mills, and bikes
  • adaptable equipment (Nu-Step and Arm Ergometer)
  • a wide selection of free weights and selectorized strength machines
  • power racks and smith press
  • designated functional training areas with pull up and tricep bars, rebounder, and bodyweight suspension equipment
  • a wide range of small equipment (medicine balls, kettlebells, plyo boxes, battle ropes, and resistance bands)
  • flexibility and recovery equipment

South Arm Community Centre includes a bright and spacious 8,100 sq. ft. fitness centre featuring ample natural lighting and a view of the surrounding park.

A range of machines and equipment cater to users of all ages and abilities, including:

  • Over 30 cardio machines, including accessible options
  • 2 free weight areas with dumbbells ranging from 3 to 90 lbs and 2 functional trainers
  • A large group training rig with suspension training and four adjustable areas that can be converted into squat or bench pressing areas
  • Squat racks and deadlift platforms
  • Top-of-the-line plate-loaded and selectorized machines
  • Stretching frame and functional areas

Seniors' Fitness Circuit

This convenient, free, outdoor fitness circuit is designed to provide a workout to improve flexibility, balance, strength and endurance. The circuit includes 14 exercise stations, and while it has been designed for seniors in the community, all ages are able to enjoy the equipment while benefiting from using it. Each piece of equipment is simple to operate and includes an instruction sign so that maximum benefits can be reached.

Fitness Centre Orientations & Informed Consent Form for Youth

Fitness Centre Orientations are free and recommended for anyone new or returning to a community fitness centre. Registration is required and can be booked directly with the fitness centre of choice.

Fitness Centre Orientations are mandatory for youth (13-15 years) regardless of previous weight training experience. An orientation is not required for youth 16 to 18 years with previous weight training experience, if noted on the signed Parental Consent Form. However, a meeting with a Fitness Attendant to review the Fitness Centre Etiquette and Code of Conduct is strongly recommended. Note: An orientation only needs to be completed once for eligibility to exercise at all centres.

Youth (13-18 years) are welcome to use any fitness centre with the completion of the following requirements:
