Dog Waste Collection

Following the conclusion of the Dog Waste pilot program, an expansion of the dog waste collection to all off-leash dog areas was approved and will be expanded in 2026 as part of the City’s ongoing work to improve waste management services.

Currently, dog waste disposal bins are available at the entrance of three off-leash dog areas in the following parks:

The dog waste in the red bins is collected, sorted (separating plastic and waste) and the waste is processed at a Metro Vancouver waste water treatment facility, keeping the harmful greenhouse gas, methane, from the landfill.

Important notes:
  • Bins are for disposal of dog waste only
  • Do not use for other pet waste or garbage/recycling
