Warming Centres

For the 2022/2023 season, the City partnered with local service providers to open two Winter Warming Centres. One was located in the City Centre and the other in the South Arm area. Both warming centres were activated on nights of extreme cold during the winter season to provide safe indoor spaces, away from the elements when the health of people experiencing homelessness could be threatened. The warming centres provided a place to rest, warm drinks, snacks, and referrals to other services during nights of extreme cold. These centres are now closed for the season.
