Britannia Heritage Shipyard Park, is a 8.14 acres national historic site in Steveston Village, situated at the east entrance to Imperial Landing Park. Together the sites provide a picturesque and direct pedestrian oriented link to Steveston Village along the South Arm of the Fraser River.
The park has spectacular views of historic cannery and shipyard buildings from the existing heritage boardwalk, views of Shady Island, active boat works, moorage along historic docks and actively used boat buildings. In addition to the scenic aspects of the park, there is also a significant heritage education program in place at the site with comprehensive interpretation signage at all major points of interests in the park and at key historic buildings and artefacts.
Britannia Heritage Shipyard Park is also used seasonally throughout the year for special events and programs such as the Richmond Maritime Festival, Culture Days and Doors Open. For more information about special events and programs, please visit the Britannia Heritage Shipyard page.
