The Parks, Recreation and Community Events (PRCE) Grant program provides funding to community organizations that deliver programs, services, and community events in public spaces that improve the quality of life of Richmond residents by:

  • Promoting wellbeing and/or healthy, active lifestyles;
  • Building physical literacy;
  • Facilitating access to great spaces and experiences;
  • Encourage learning and exploration;
  • Enhancing inclusion and belonging;
  • Fostering a safe, resilient and accessible community; and
  • Strengthen community capacity.

Funding may support either ongoing operations or specific initiatives that support the needs of a growing and diverse community. The program encourages collaboration, partnerships and cost-sharing with other funders to maximize impact. Through this program, the City aims to strengthen community well-being and contribute to a more inclusive, connected and resilient Richmond.
