Born in Taiwan, Henry settled in Richmond in 1990. He attended Kingswood, McRoberts, McNair, KPU and graduated from UBC with Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. In 2004, Henry was diagnosed with cancer. He survived the cancer, thanks to his families’ and friends’ support.
He decided to pursue youth work in hope to help the new generation find their voice in the community. After spending many years supporting youth, Henry decided to step up his effort to help the community by running for council in 2014.
The 2014 election taught Henry that the most complex and challenging issue faced by Richmond is community division. Henry expanded his service to Richmond by attending council meetings, supporting local fundraisers, volunteering for programs, hosting events and serving on various boards.
In this election, Henry is running with RITE Richmond in hope to help Richmond residents engage with each other and find common ground.
