Richmond invites applications to its annual City Grant Programs by Wed, Oct 18

The City of Richmond has opened applications to its annual City Grant Programs. Applications for grants are open until 5:00pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

The grants fall under five categories – Arts and Culture; Child Care; Health, Social and Safety; Parks, Recreation and Community Events; and Environmental Enhancement.

“The annual City Grants programs help worthy organizations throughout Richmond support our community and improve the quality of life of residents,” said Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “By funding diverse and beneficial community programs, these grants are an important part of Council’s commitment to build an active and thriving city.”

In past years, grant funding has supported numerous local activities and programs throughout the City. Examples include the Richmond Improv Theatre Society workshops for children and youth; outdoor play equipment and sleeping mats at Little Wings Daycare; Indigenous Education Kits for the Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives early years resource library; and free meals for vulnerable community members provided by Church on Five and St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Grants have also funded tree planting at the Richmond Nature Park by the 10th Richmond Sea Scouts; shoreline and street cleanups by the WS Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society; and leadership and personal development workshops for girls and women hosted by the Voices of Muslim Women Foundation.
