The popular Richmond Children’s Arts Festival is returning with free activities and entertainment on BC Family Day (Monday, February 16) from 10:00am to 5:00pm at the Richmond Cultural Centre and Richmond Public Library.
This year’s festival, a celebration of community and cultural harmony, will feature a wide variety of arts activities and entertainment for all ages centred on the theme of “home and belonging.”
The opening ceremony at 10:00am will feature a performance by Tsatsu Stalqayu (Coastal Wolf Pack) and the event will close at 5:00pm with a performance by Hong De Vancouver Dragon & Lion Dance Team. Some highlights throughout the day include Axis Theatre (BC Live Performance Network’s 2025 Artistic Company of the Year) Mdundo Arts’ presentation of East African dance, and 10-year-old harpist, Emma Wong, of Richmond. Honouring Lunar New Year, the site will be decorated with handcrafted calligraphy by the Richmond Chinese Artists Association and Richmond Chinese Ink Brush Society.
The 17th annual Richmond Children’s Arts Festival celebrates the power of the arts to foster understanding and connection in families and communities across generations and cultures, building community, inspiring curiosity, and exploring through play. The 2026 Presenting Partners for the Children’s Arts Festival are Remitly, Natures Path, Great Little Box Company, and Scotiabank.
