Richmond residents are invited to explore a variety of community-based employment programs and services at Employment Connections: Programs and Supports for Jobseekers on Wednesday, May 28. 2025.
The free event, taking place from 2:30 to 5:00pm at the Brighouse Library inside the Richmond Cultural Centre at 7700 Minoru Gate, is designed to connect jobseekers with local community organizations supporting individuals looking for work or considering a career change. The event helps Richmond jobseekers access a wide range of employment-related programs and supports that help participants build confidence and strengthen job-readiness skills.
Employment Connections will feature community organizations offering services such as job search assistance, opportunities to gain work or volunteer experience, and upskilling or training programs. These organizations will be on-site to answer questions and guide jobseekers toward the resources that best meet their needs. The event will also include short, hands-on learning sessions—such as 10-minute mock interviews and quick resume reviews—to introduce jobseekers to the types of supports offered by participating organizations.
Employment Connections is a joint initiative involving a group of Richmond-based organizations, the City of Richmond and Richmond Public Library, all committed to supporting employment readiness opportunities for Richmond residents.
Registration is encouraged but not required.
