City of Richmond invites applications to City Grant Programs

14 September 2022

The City of Richmond has opened applications to its annual City Grant Programs – made up of five categories - to assist the valuable work of registered non-profit societies. The Environmental Enhancement Grant is open to individuals and registered non-profit organizations. Applications for grants are open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

The annual City Grant Programs support organizations and individuals in improving the quality of life of residents through diverse and beneficial community programs. These programs are an important component of the City’s strategy to build an active and thriving Richmond.

In past years, grant funding has supported local activities and programs including the production of the Richmond Singers 2022/2023 concert series, playground renovations at Riverside Child Development Centre, Wellness Connections aimed at assisting at-risk, frail and isolated seniors, the Dragon Boat Festival and the Richmond Garden Club’s removal of invasive species.

The grants fall under five categories – Arts and Culture; Child Care; Health, Social and Safety; Parks, Recreation and Community Events; and Environmental.

A primary focus for Council is to be strategic in ensuring Richmond residents have access to the programs, supports and services needed. One way of helping to achieve this goal is through the annual City Grant Programs that support the work of not-for-profit, community service organizations. The City’s grant programs are funded by the Province of BC’s gaming revenues.
