Culture Days –  a national celebration of arts and culture – is returning this fall from September 19 through October 12. This is a fantastic opportunity for Richmond artists and cultural organizations to register interactive events and showcase their talents while promoting arts and culture in our community.

By offering free or pay-what-you-may experiences such as hands-on workshops, creative placemaking activities and behind-the-scenes tours, Culture Days offers various opportunities to showcase arts and creativity in Richmond. Other activities such as open studio events, information sessions and demonstrations help to further increase awareness, pride and participation in the arts and demonstrates the value of activating public spaces through, and for, the arts.

For artists and creatives, Culture Days is a unique chance to showcase their work and connect with Richmond residents and visitors. It provides artists and other creative individuals avenues to share arts and culture practices and introduce residents and visitors to Richmond’s vibrant arts and culture community. For groups and organizations, Culture Days is also a recognized platform to increase community engagement, reach new audiences and enhance member recruitment.

Richmond is recognized as one of Canada’s leading supporters of Culture Days through its extensive programs and activities that highlight artists, cultural producers, dancers, designers, makers, musicians, performers, photographers, writers and others who open their creative spaces to the public or present free, participatory activities and experiences.

Registered Culture Days event organizers will have access to:

  • The Culture Days website, offering resources to plan events, inspiration for in-person and online activities, and resources for Indigenous cultural programs, volunteer management, documenting events and a school engagement toolkit.
  • Free promotional support through a robust multi-tiered marketing campaign from the City of Richmond, BC Culture Days and the national Culture Days organization.

The deadline for registration is Thursday, July 31 at culturedays.ca

In addition to marketing, the City can offer support in connecting event organizers to creative spaces and venues. For more information about creative spaces and venues, visit richmond.ca/CultureDays or email culture@richmond.ca.
