As Remembrance Day approaches, the City of Richmond, in partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion, Richmond Branch 291, is inviting the community to reflect on the local veterans who served Canada through the inaugural Veterans Street Banner Program.
A total of 114 veterans have been selected for recognition on individual street banners now installed throughout the City Centre area. The banners pay tribute to individuals who served Canada with courage and dedication.
The banners will be displayed until December 1, 2026, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to learn about and remember the contributions of local veterans.
Eligible veterans were selected from nominations submitted by Richmond residents. Those recognized through the program served in the Canadian Armed Forces or the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and lived in Richmond.
The Veterans Street Banner Program reflects Richmond’s commitment to honour the service and contributions of local veterans and ensures their stories remain visible within the community.
Residents can view the banners throughout the City Centre area during the display period. Full program details are available at richmond.ca/VeteransBanners.
