The City of Richmond’s General Local and School Election will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, to elect one Mayor, eight Councillors and seven School Board Trustees.

All eligible Richmond residents are encouraged to register to vote through Elections BC until Tuesday, August 18. They can also confirm whether they are already on the voters list using the “Am I on the Voters List?” search tool on the City’s website. Registering in advance helps make voting quicker and easier. Voters will receive a voter card in the mail with their voting place, helping speed up the voting process. 

Eligible voters will be able to vote in-person at their designated voting place on General Voting Day (October 17) or at any of the advance voting locations, which will be offered over five days (October 3, 7, 8, 9 and 10). Voters may cast only one ballot.

A number of accessible voting opportunities will be available during this election, including curb-side voting, mail ballots and an accessible ballot-marking device at City Hall during advance voting. For further information on where, when and how to vote, visit richmond.ca/elections.
