Steveston Community Park is a 30 acre hub of activity in the heart of Steveston. It is a destination for families because of its unique and expansive playground and waterpark. The playground is built around a fishing village theme and includes the giant trawler play structure.

Please note the following: The two tennis courts and practice wall area will be closed for repairs starting on August 19 for approximately 2-3 weeks, weather permitting.

Playground Enhancements – September 2026 Construction Update
Construction of the Steveston Community Park Playground Enhancements will begin the week of September 8, 2026, and is expected to take approximately 3 to 4 weeks. During construction:
- Most of the playground will remain open.
- For public safety, the shipwreck structure, wobble boards and belt swing set will be temporarily fenced off.
Based on community feedback, the enhancements will include new monkey bars and climbing equipment that connect with the existing play equipment, providing additional opportunities for climbing, balancing and active play. Thank you for your patience while these improvements are completed.
Steveston Community Park Playground
The new playground is officially open!
Centrally located just northeast of the intersection of No. 1 Road and Moncton Street, the park features a refreshed destination playground inspired by Steveston Village’s rich history.
Exciting new features include custom salmon and fishing boat-inspired climbers with interactive panels, a lighthouse tower with two big slides, a large sand play area with diggers, a new train, and a double zipline. Additionally, there is multiple spring toys, spinners, and swings for everyone to enjoy. This renewal project aims to ensure that this popular playground remains a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for years to come.

Outdoor Pool and Waterplay Area
The Steveston Outdoor Pool is Richmond's best kept secret and includes:
- 25 metre—6 lane rectangular heated outdoor pool
- 3 metre slide
- Shallow tot pool for the youngsters

The Waterplay area west of the Community Centre is open from Victoria Day long weekend in May until after Labour Day long weekend in September, weather permitting. Please note: in extremely dry, summer conditions, the waterplay area may be closed for water conservation purposes.
REMINDER: Dogs are NOT permitted in the waterplay / splash pad area. This is a play space for children and parents only.
More Fun!
The park is home to the historic Interurban Tram, which is housed in an interpretive centre on the original tracks near Moncton Rd. And No 1 Rd. It is located at that corner of the Millennium Plaza, which commemorates Steveston's origins as a fishing village.
The park also includes:

Dog Off-Leash Reminder
Pet owners in dogs off-leash areas adhere to the following usage guidelines:
- Dogs must be kept under control by their owners at all times.
- Stoop and Scoop: clean up after your dog.
- Dog owners must carry a leash at all times.
- All dogs must be currently and visibly licensed.
- Dog owners must maintain effective verbal control of their dogs and always be able to see their dog when off the leash.
- Any dog exhibiting aggressive behaviour must be leashed immediately.
