Thompson/Burnett Community Park has a total park size of 27.199 acres in the Thompson area and is a sports oriented park with 3 sports field, a ball diamond, 2 basketball courts, 4 tennis courts, lacrosse box, and disc golf.

In addition to the sporting nature of the park, there are are multiple playground areas for a variety of ages with unique, age appropriate play structures. Playground amenities at the park include a tot and child play area and a free-standing climbing wall/structure for children and youth.

A Youth Park along the south edge of the park is designed to be multipurpose and family oriented, with the design being inspired by the creative ideas of the Burnett Secondary School and Blair Elementary School students. Included in this new area is a skateboard park that opened Summer 2012. The skateboard area includes exciting elements designed for novice and advanced skateboarders alike.
