Asa Johal Park is a 1.07-acre natural area on the southern waterfront of Mitchell Island. The treed site includes an open lawn area with picnic tables and a gravel pathway with benches, offering views of the North Arm of the Fraser River. It is named after Asa Singh Johal, a prominent former Richmond (and Mitchell Island) resident, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He was the founder and chairman of the India Cultural Centre of Canada, and established Terminal Forest Products, British Columbia's largest independent lumber company, which continues to operate on the island.
