A mural on the front facing wall of McNair Secondary School.

Artist Statement

The mural Horizons at McNair Secondary School celebrates Richmond’s landscape and identity by framing the school's crest within two iconic local environments. One side depicts the Fraser River with its shoreline, dock and Great Blue Heron, while the other highlights Richmond's agricultural fields, distant Coast Mountains, and a flock of migratory birds crossing the sky. Together, these scenes represent the natural environments that define the community and surround the school. The mural was collectively designed by the McNair school community, celebrating the school's spirit and Richmond’s ecological diversity.
