Artist Statement

“Follow Me” celebrates the spirit of guidance, creativity, and lifelong learning within Minoru Park. Bold, expressive brushstrokes create a dreamlike scene where a child, perched their parent’s shoulders, climbs a staircase of books toward the Richmond Public Library. Oversized, ethereal mother geese soar through the composition, symbolizing wisdom and the nurturing role of elders, while a family of ducks glides across a shimmering pond.

"Rhythms of Change" captures the evolving spirit of central Richmond, blending the beauty of nature and the momentum of urban growth. A parent and child walk hand-in-hand, witnessing a landscape where towering new developments rise above long-standing community landmarks. Native trees and shrubbery anchor the scene, celebrating the area’s natural heritage.
