Yanqun Xue

Biography

Yanqun Xue was born in Dalian, China. Graduated from Shenyang Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in 1981 and stayed on to teach. In 1984, he also served as the jury member of the Sixth National Art Exhibition. In 1989, he completed his postgraduate studies and obtained a master's degree in fine arts. He is a professor of oil painting and a member of the Chinese Artists Association.

Since immigrating to Canada in 1997, Mr. Xue has participated in several exhibitions and art auctions, including at UBC Asia Art Centre, Renaissance Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel, Vancouver Art Museum and Lladro Exhibition Centre in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. He moved to Richmond in 2011 and runs Fraser Art Studios as owner.

More than 320 pieces of his works have been exhibited in domestic and foreign exhibitions and have won silver, bronze and some honorable mentions. Six of his works were exhibited and sold at Swire Auctions at Christie's in Hong Kong. More than 300 of his oil paintings have been collected by the National Art Museum of China, overseas art museums and private collectors.
