Biography
Krystle Coughlin Silverfox is visual artist from Northern Tutchone (Selkirk First Nation) who resides in New Westminster, BC. She holds a BFA in Visual Arts (2016) and BA in gender, race, sexuality and social justice (2013) both from the University of British Columbia; and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies (2019) from Simon Fraser University. Her artistic practice explores different materials, methodologies and symbols to create conceptual works. She is passionate about Indigenous feminism, transnationalism, de-colonialism, and social justice – and views her artistic practice as personal activism and expression. Krystle's practice includes painting, photography, sculpture, installation and new media. She is interested in using her artistic practice to explore ways to better communicate and share her experiences and stories.
