In celebration of Richmond Pride Week, Richmond Public Library is inviting readers to connect with author, educator and advocate Mischa Oak at an inspiring book talk and live Q&A.
A long-time advocate for 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, Mischa will discuss his recent book Rainbow Wisdom: 18 LGBTQ+ Life Lessons for Everyone, an uplifting exploration of how the LGBTQ+ experience can inspire anyone to live more joyfully and authentically. This event will be followed by an audience Q&A and a book signing. Books will be available to purchase.
Pride Week in Richmond is a celebration of members of the Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual and gender diverse (2SLGBTQIA+) communities in our city. Starting on the last Monday of July annually, Pride Week features inclusive events and interactive activities with local leaders, artists, performers and community members. This year’s theme, 'Pride in Momentum', reflects Pride Week as an active, evolving movement toward a more equitable and vibrant future for everyone in Richmond.
