Description of Work

A contemporary version of a traditional gate, Katsura Gate uses sustainable materials with a transom of amorphous shapes in stained glass to represents renewal and beauty.

Artist Statement

This is an artwork that integrates the site to the community, nature, myth and ritual.  It depicts a universal symbol for passage accessible to all cultures. This artwork integrates the site to its community, offering all a “Passage” into a place for contemplation and solitude.
