Artist Statement

The central theme for the mural: Movements That Make Us, is active forms of identity. The design reflects the most prevalent themes from engagement sessions with students and staff at Mitchell Elementary School in Richmond, BC. Students responded to prompts with drawings and writing about their passions and curiosities, and spaces they feel comfortable or at home in.
