Description of Work

One Park Otto Finch Haus is a sculpture of the development’s three towers, as open floor plates with modular additions as housing for birds. It has the interlocking of three laser cut steel tubes supporting it interlocking at the mid point between the ground and the bottom of the sculpture. The housing for birds is made of cedar. Hardware is stainless steel. All of the metal has been powder coated.

Artist Statement

Inspired by Frei Otto’s experimental Ökohaus Berlin, this sculpture at One Park draws from the concept of open floor plates and modular additions. The artwork reimagines One Park’s three towers as scaled-down forms, offering housing for finches. Whimsically, the viewer is invited to imagine themselves as one of the birds, connecting with both the collective and the personal within the architectural space. Blending natural and human-made elements, the piece explores themes of recursion, repetition, and scale, merging modernity with the natural world's own narratives.
