Artist Statement
The bronze sculpture of a Richmond firefighter commemorates and honours the contributions and history of the Richmond Fire-Rescue Department, an organization that was established in 1897 as a group of committed individuals and that has grown over the years into a modern, innovative and professional service. Richmond Fire-Rescue is proud of this rich history and looks forward to a future of excellence in fire and life safety service.
