World Leisure Day & City of Richmond - Tue, Apr 16

Join in celebrating World Leisure Day in Richmond with this year's theme, “Embracing Digital Horizons in Leisure” that aims to embrace the limitless possibilities that digital leisure offers. Celebrate the importance of leisure activities in Richmond community acknowledging how technology enhances our leisure experiences, shaping how we work, play and connect.

Explore the variety of options within our city - whether in-person or virtually - as a way for you and your family be active, unwind, relax and simply have fun.

World Leisure Day is a global initiative of the World Leisure Organization (WLO), which aims to reinforce leisure as a social right and its importance in daily life, as well as to expand and promote leisure globally while recognizing that barriers still exist for many worldwide. Check out the following list of activities to participate in on Tuesday, April 16 and beyond:

Athletic

Expect six alternating blocks of functional exercises using dumbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, battle ropes and more partnered with blocks of hill work, sprint work or threshold work on a treadmill or Airdyne Bike.

FREE! Adventure Labs

Check out this interactive, app-based experience and virtual scavenger hunt for the whole family. Players download the interactive app onto a smartphone, and are guided by GPS to various locations. At each stop, players answer questions and learn facts about wildlife and ecology.
