Community Celebration Grant

Community Celebration Grant

NR - 2024 - Celebration Grant

Are you a Richmond-based non-profit organization, faith-based group, Parent Advisory Committee, or Student Council looking to host a free public event that builds a sense of community? If so, you are encouraged to apply for a 2024 Richmond Community Celebration Grant.

This long-running Grant Program provides funding up to $2,000 to support the delivery of initiatives that will build local capacity, provide opportunities for Richmond residents and community groups to collaborate, and increase a sense of community pride and belonging.

Richmond artists and residents are encouraged to connect with local, not-for-profit organizations to develop proposals that capitalize on the power and potential of the arts to support community building and promote social engagement.

Examples of events that may be eligible for funding include cultural celebrations, community concerts and movies in the park. They must also:

  • take place in Richmond between June 1 and December 31, 2024;
  • demonstrate alignment with program objectives, including creating events that help to build and strengthen a sense of community in Richmond;
  • be inclusive, accessible and demonstrate engagement of community members from diverse backgrounds; and
  • be free and open to the public.

In addition, applicants must show evidence of their capacity to host an event and show a realistic estimate of the resources and total budget required.

Find out more about the Richmond Community Celebration Grant Program and submit an online application at richmond.ca/CelebrationGrant. Deadline for submissions is Sunday, February 25, 2024.
