Free Community Workshops Schedule
Richmond residents have multiple opportunities to learn more about gardening, composting, waste reduction and recycling. The City offers free workshops throughout the year and these sessions help develop a sense of community and expand the community's understanding of how to better support and protect the environment.
Planet Protector Academy: Home Edition
The City has partnered with DreamRider Productions Inc. to bring the Planet Protector Academy: Home Edition to Richmond. Engage your kids with online learning that inspires offline learning, creativity and action. The Zero Heroes Home Edition inspires kids to become zero waste superheroes that explore our garbage predicament and work to change their families waste habits.

Recycling and Waste Reduction Workshops
Free group workshop with a minimum of 15 students per session.
Organizers are required to register at least 2 weeks in advance and registration is available a first come basis.

Quest for Recycling Treasure 30-45 min |
Did you know that your recycling items are treasures? They get transformed into awesome new things and save the environment when we recycle properly! Join us for an interactive workshop on a treasure hunt quest to learn the basics of recycling and make a fun treasure. You’ll learn how to properly prepare your materials for each receptacle, avoid contamination and ultimately understand why it is important to recycle and helps save our planet. |

Richmond Recycling Depot Tour 30-45 min |
Not sure what you can drop off at the Richmond Recycling Depot? Join us for an informative tour of the Depot to see firsthand just how many household items and materials you can drop off at the Depot and what recycling supplies you can pick up for free. |
