Recycling Depot Renovations are Complete!
On Monday November 16, Mayor and Council attended the unveiling of the Richmond Recycling Depot upgrades. The recent renovations were made to update aging infrastructure, improve operations and accommodate the expansion of depot services. Site improvements and configuration changes included an expanded site, a classroom for Environmental Programs, an expansion of the hazardous waste materials area that includes a tent covering, new steel awning spanning the centralized large recycling bins, and dedicated heavy equipment.
Along with this new configuration, the Richmond Recycling depot is now accepting fire extinguishers and lead acid batteries! Visit our Recycling Depot page where you'll find an interactive virtual map of accepted items and where to dispose of them.
Since the city could not offer a grand opening for residents to attend, a video of the official unveiling along with a time-lapse clip of the construction process can be viewed on our Recycling Depot Page
