Green Cart DeliveryWatch for Green Delivery in April and May!
Richmond will be delivering more than 41,000 Green Carts over the next two months. Richmond residents in single-family homes and more than 11,000 townhomes are on track to use the City's new Green Cart program for recycling food scraps and yard trimmings well in advanced of the anticipated disposal ban on food scraps in 2015.
The Green Cart delivery schedule aligns with the regular collection zones for residents in single-family homes and townhomes with the City's garbage service and/or Blue Box program. Residents will receive their new Green Cart, a complimentary kitchen container, and information kit that includes tips and information on Green Cart recycling and Large Item Pick Up, sample paper bin liners and coupons. Green Carts will be delivered throughout the week based on the following zone map schedule:

Green Cart Collection Starts in June
Please do not put out your new Green Cart for collection until your first collection day in June. For residents with Green Can Service, please continue to use your Green Can and paper yard waste bags until the new program starts in June. For townhomes in the Green Cart Pilot Project, please continue to use your cart. There will be no interruption of service and you will continue to receive weekly collection.
