Dementia-Friendly Project
The City of Richmond has received a grant to create a Dementia-Friendly Community Action Plan for Richmond. A Dementia-Friendly community is one that focuses on the inclusion of people living with dementia, ensuring support and accessibility for all residents.
Dementia-Friendly Community Action Plan
On September 23, 2019 City Council adopted the Dementia-Friendly Community Action Plan 2019 for Richmond.
The Dementia-Friendly Community Action Plan is comprised of 25 actions categorized into four strategic directions to be implemented over the next five years.
The actions outlined in the Plan will ensure Richmond residents living with dementia and their families and caregivers are included, supported and valued and will continue to be active and engaged with their community.
2018 Project ActivitiesNeighbourhood Focus Groups
People living with dementia and those affected by dementia – including friends, family, caregivers, neighbours and co-workers were invited to share their experiences and provide input by completing a survey online from June 4 to July 1, 2018 at LetsTalkRichmond.ca or by attending a neighbourhood focus group.
