Richmond Resilient Communities (RRC) is a program designed to provide residents with the tools and knowledge to prepare themselves, their families, and their communities to be resilient to emergencies of all sizes.Richmond Resilient Communities Workshop
Know the risks
Participants will be led down an exploration of what the hazards are in Richmond.Make a plan
Participants will work through a series of scenarios starting with a focus of home and family preparedness, and later expanding to city-wide emergencies. Discussions and scenarios on Family Emergency Plans, Shelter in Place, Group Lodging, and more take place to provide perspective and context.Make a kit
Supplies, tools and materials to be self-sufficient or family-sufficient for 3-7 days will be explored.Know what to do
Participants will explore the current skills present in the community, and identify any gaps in previously identified areas required for success. Skills such as Communications, First Aid, Fire Suppression, Rapid Damage Assessment, and Urban Search and Rescue are all discussed.2018 Scheduled RRC Workshops
As workshops are community-specific, residents are encouraged to register for the workshop taking place in their community. All workshops and materials are free for residents of Richmond. There are two ways to register:

- Over the telephone at 604-276-4300 and press “2” at the prompt (Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm).
