Farmland Housing Regulations

Rows of Planted Crops on Farm FieldBeginning in 2016, the City of Richmond went through an extensive review of their residential policies and regulations on properties in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) that permit residential uses.  This, along with recent legislative changes to the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) Act and associated regulations, has resulted in a revised set of policies and regulations that establish limits on the size of residential development on farmland.
