Development & Rezoning

Current Development Applications

The review and approval of development applications is one of the main ways the City of Richmonds’ Official Community Plan (OCP) is implemented. The OCP is the long range plan for the community. It provides a common vision for where growth should occur to ensure it is managed and coordinated with appropriate amenities and infrastructure investment.

Each Development Application submitted to the City is reviewed by staff in relevant departments and outside agencies (as required) to ensure it meets required regulations, standards and design guidelines before being considered for approval. For more information on the City’s Official Community Plan, Zoning Bylaw or to make an application please refer to the related sections of the website.

The documents below, provide a brief overview of Development Applications submitted to the City of Richmond Development Application Department on an annual basis. They include the site address, a description of the proposed development, its status, the planner assigned and the applicant contact information. These documents are available in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format, and are updated on the 1st of each month. Active Development Applications can also be found on the City’s mapping system RIM (Richmond Interactive Map).
