2017 Artist in Residence - Pierre Leichner
Meld sports with interdisciplinary arts through Pierre’s unique SpART project at Thompson. Pierre guided creativity with his community-engaged practice through projects such as “Bocce art” and Tye Dye SpART t-shirts. Pierre has participated in making art works with diverse community participants of all ages in Canada and in Europe. His past community-engaged projects can be seen on his website: www.leichner.ca.
Erin Green: Meet our new art instructor, who will be teaching a variety of classes for all ages. Erin has a diploma in Fine Arts, a Bachelor of Design and has been teaching art through community centres, Arts Umbrella and privately for almost 10 years. Erin loves making art...she is passionate about sharing tricks and techniques that allow people to feel confident in their abilities. She loves to share the joy that comes with creating art!
She lives with her husband and their dog Sam. She loves playing board games and having dance parties.

Thompson Community Association Art Committee
Since 2009, Thompson Community Association’s Art Committee has spearheaded projects such as:
- River Walk community art installation
- Monthly art display in the lobby
- Art pieces adorning the walls of the fitness centre
