The Steveston Youth Team is excited to be offering new opportunities for Steveston preteens and youth. We offer something for everyone, ranging from drop-in, leadership and volunteer opportunities right here in your community. Steveston United Peers (Grades 8-12)
Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00-6:00 pm
Steveston United Peers is a program aimed at creating a fun and safe space for youth with developmental disabilities/delays to come and hang out with their peers. This program builds and fosters social and life skills while youth go on awesome trips, practice cooking skills and have fun together.
Youth Open Gym (13-18 years)
Saturdays 5:30-6:30 pm
All youth are invited to come participate in the drop-in gym at the community centre. Come play basketball, soccer, floor hockey and more with friends and others in the community.
Youth - $2.40 drop-in fee
NightShift Drop-in Basketball (13-24 years)
Fridays 8:30-11:30 pm
Come play drop-in basketball with others from the community. Youth rate only applies with a valid Go-Card.
Youth - $2.40 drop-in fee
Adult - $4.95 drop-in fee
NightShift (Grades 8-12) - Free
Fridays 8:00-11:30 pm
NightShift is a safe and open place to hang out with others playing pool, foosball, video games, food and movies. Special activities are planned regularly.
Leadership and Volunteer Opportunities
Steveston Youth Council (Grades 8-12) - Free
Thursday 3:30-4:30 pm
The Steveston Youth Council is an opportunity for youth to gain volunteer opportunities and develop leadership skills in ways that interest them. Take an active role in the community by giving back and contributing in areas that you care about! Members meet once a week to plan events, try new activities, earn volunteer hours and gain leadership experience.
Steveston Preteen Leadership (Grades 6-7) - Free
Wednesday 3:30-4:30 pm
Give back to the community by joining the Steveston Preteen Leadership group. Develop important leadership skills and gain volunteer hours by planning and engaging in events and activities within the Steveston area. Members meet once a week to plan events, try new activities, earn volunteer hours and gain leadership experience. Open to students in grades 6 and 7.
