South Arm's Fitness Centre consists of a cardio room, weight room, aerobics studio, a large stretching area and a separate spin studio. Special equipment for post rehab and wheelchair participants is also available. For a complete listing, view the Fitness Equipment Inventory List. In addition, on-site racquetball and squash courts are available to rent. Call for rates and times.

There's no excuse to miss your workout!
All community centres are open regular weekend hours plus select community centres are open on public holidays! This is a great chance to come in for a workout with friends and family. Use your Total Fitness Pass at select community centres on public holidays for no extra fee. Fitness class schedules may vary. Contact us for more information.
South Arm Community Centre offers a number of options for accessing fitness programs, including paying a drop-in fee or purchasing a visit card or fitness centre pass, as well as offering programs for registration. See the Fitness Fees section for more information.
Group and Personal Training
All South Arm personal trainers have met or have exceeded the standards set out by the BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA), the provincial registration and governing association for fitness leaders in BC. The trainers are highly qualified and hold multiple national and international certifications with specialty training in various areas of health and fitness. Fitness Centre Orientation
This introduction with a registered Personal Trainer covers proper techniques and safety for equipment use and fitness centre etiquette. Appointments range from 15 to 30 minutes in length and are free with any valid fitness pass.
Fitness Centre orientations are mandatory for 13 to 15 year olds and are optional for 16 to 17 year olds. Note: the minimum age requirement for use of the South Arm Fitness Centre is 13 years old. In addition, those 13 to 17 years old must demonstrate appropriate maturity level and have a Parental Consent Form signed prior to Fitness Centre access.

PAR-Q (The Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire for Everyone)
Taking part in any fitness activity at a City facility requires one of the following:
- the completion of the PAR-Q+
- reading of the large poster version of the form
- confirmation of completion of the online version of the questionnaire or printing and completing this form PAR-Q Form
This form is designed to identify people for whom a change in physical activity may pose a risk.
