Public Preschool Registration School Year 2017/2018
Please note: Registration is based on a first come, first served basis.
Time for Two: Children born in 2015 (2 years old)
Offers children an opportunity to socialize and participate in group activities designed for their unique stage of development.
Through songs, stories, music and movement, children will be introduced to some basic concepts. Time for Two will prepare children to have successful interactions with their peers that include taking turns and sharing – easing the transition to preschool.
The children will also have the opportunity to practice throwing, jumping and balancing to help with the development of children;s large muscles (gross-motor skills). Our Early Childhood Educators will work together with families to ease the transition for the child through gradual entry.
Circle of Friends: Children born in 2013 and 2014 (3-4 years old)
Circle of Friends Preschool combines child-led explorations and teacher-directed activities designed to enhance children’s development in all areas of growth.
Opportunities for social interaction, physical activities, artistic expression and hands-on exploration are provided. Through these experiences, children will learn to share, take turns, listen to each other and respect other’s ideas. The goal is for the children to become independent, build self-esteem and acquire the skills to succeed in Kindergarten. Additional focus will be on encouraging children’s curiosity, creativity and imagination while being exposed to academics such as language and numeracy.
A strong emphasis on physical literacy is also part of the program. To further enrich the children’s leaning, the preschool will attend field trips, explore the community and participate in seasonal celebrations.
