Richmond offers more skating and fitness centre options
02 November 2020
The City is continuing to offer more recreational sessions including skating lessons, public skates and registered fitness centre visits at five community centres. These opportunities allow for people to get active, get socially connected and have fun in safe, monitored environments.
Registration is now underway for skating lessons at Minoru Arenas. Lessons run Tuesdays to Saturdays starting Tuesday, November 3 through mid-December for those four years and older.
Public skating at Minoru Arenas begins Wednesday, November 4 and will take place on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. One hour public skating sessions at Richmond Ice Centre continue to be offered Monday through Friday. Skate rentals for lessons and public skates at Minoru Arenas are available for an additional fee. Pre-registration for public skating sessions is required; no drop-ins permitted.
The fitness centres at West Richmond and City Centre Community Centres are the latest facilities to open with bookings now available. South Arm and Thompson community centres and the Minoru Centre for Active Living fitness centres continue to operate with increased safety measures and physical distancing in place for registered fitness visits. Those wishing to use any of the City’s five fitness centres must pre-register for a 75 minute session.
Pre-registration for skating and fitness centre visits is required and can be done now:
