Richmond residents invited to share ideas for Steveston Community Park Playground
March 15, 2016
The public is invited to share ideas and provide feedback to the City of Richmond as it begins phase one of planning and design for the Steveston Community Park Playground renewal.
The first of a series of three drop-in style open houses takes place on Saturday, March 26 and is aimed at receiving and sharing ideas. This initial session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Steveston Community Centre, located at 4111 Moncton Street, is the start of a public consultation process that was initiated by the Steveston Community Society Contribution to the Steveston Community Park Playground renewal.
Those attending the open house are encouraged to talk with City park planners, review information and potential ideas that will be on display and complete the survey, either online or printed version. There will also be activities for children to share their ideas about what they would like to see in a new playground.
From March 26 through July 15, the public can also visit www.LetsTalkRichmond.ca to obtain updated information, download documents and complete the online version of the survey.
Information gathered during the March 26 session will help form a number of concept options that will be presented to the public for discussion and feedback during a second phase of public engagement to be held in May 2016. Following the May session, the preferred concept will be presented for further discussion and public comment at the Steveston Salmon Festival on Friday, July 1. The feedback from these three phases as well as input from park planners will evolve into a park concept plan for Council review.
