Updated Richmond BC app now available for Android devices
08 August 2017
The City of Richmond’s multipurpose RichmondBC App is now available for users of both iPhone and Android devices. The updated version of the app offers a variety of features to customers, including comprehensive information about the City’s parks, recreational, cultural and heritage facilities, programs and events.
The updated version of the app, which was launched earlier this year for iPhone, is also now available through Google Play for Android users. It allows users to create a Digital Recreation Membership Pass rather than carry a physical card; create a personalized City of Richmond Profile (MyProfile) login for a custom view of their registered programs and more easily locate garbage and recycling schedules.
The app is a powerful tool for users to discover the many activities offered in City facilities, learn about community events and find details about many local parks. The app provides direct access to an interactive map with a complete list of all City parks, recreation, heritage and cultural facilities as well as the Richmond Olympic Oval. Users will be able to search the location, history, hours of operation and GPS coordinates of each facility and obtain directions to get there.
The app is free to download at both Google Play and Apple stores.
The RichmondBC app 2.0 was created through the collaborative efforts of City staff from the Information Technology, Community Services, and Engineering & Public Works divisions, with development work by Richmond-based Opacity Design Group.
