Ready, set, glow: Where to take an insta-worthy holiday photo in Richmond
30 November 2018
‘Tis the season to take in Richmond’s annual City-wide display of holiday lights. From Saturday, December 1 through to the beginning of January, approximately 650,000 lights will illuminate and bring festive ambiance to Richmond.
For those looking for the perfect spot to take a holiday photo, check out the following locations:
- City Hall: A new addition for the 2018 season, Christmas ball ornaments will be set up near Minoru Plaza (east of the Minoru Place Activity Centre) and on the City Hall front lawn (off of No. 3 Road). Pictures can be taken inside and outside of this display piece. City Hall will also feature 320 strings of light, as well as deer and snow globe displays.
- Steveston Town Square Park: A display will be set up including sculptural and trunk-wrapped lit trees, large illuminated snowballs and a trellis. Steveston Town Square Park is located next to the Steveston Museum.
- Britannia Heritage Shipyards National Historic Site: Take a stroll through the picturesque waterfront site and strike a pose with an illuminated boat, tree and heritage buildings as a festive backdrop.
In addition, Richmond will be making the holiday season merry and bright with lights around City Centre, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, the City’s Works Yard, Minoru Park, Steveston Park, Steveston Interurban Tram Building and Visitor Centre, and London Plaza.
