Minoru Centre for Active Living Fitness Centre Open House – Saturday, January 11

The City is inviting the public to experience the Minoru Centre for Active Living Fitness Centre first hand this Saturday, January 11 as its guest – meaning free of charge – from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
The spacious 790 square metre (8,500 sq. ft.) fitness centre opened to the public on January 1 and features a full complement of cardio, strength and stretching equipment with an added focus on functional training pieces that promote active aging, performance and fun. The centre also boasts a large 176 square metre (1,900 sq. ft.) fitness studio that hosts a variety of group fitness classes.
Open House activities include six fitness classes including Power Fit at 10:45 a.m. and Synry Circuit at 5:30 p.m., 30-minute Group Fitness Try-It classes starting at the top and bottom of the hour between noon and 6 p.m. as well as facility tours throughout the day. Fitness Orientations are also being offered with advance sign up required. Customers who sign up for a six-month or Annual Pass will receive a Minoru Centre for Active Living fitness towel.
In addition, everyone is welcome to drop in and try the equipment and learn about the various classes and programs on offer such as Core Conditioning, Dance and Tone, High Intensity Interval Training, Circuit classes, Yoga and more.
The Minoru Centre for Active Living Fitness Centre is open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday and statutory holidays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Access is available on a drop-in basis as well as with monthly memberships and multi-visit passes.
The Minoru Centre for Active Living is a 10,220 square metre (110,000 sq. ft.) community facility that includes a multi-pool aquatic centre (due to open later in 2020), a two-storey seniors centre, a full service cafeteria and bistro, and three outdoor public plazas.
