Richmond seeks input on City’s response to heat and air quality events
15 September 2022
The City of Richmond is inviting the public to provide feedback on its actions and response in relation to this summer’s Heat Warnings and Air Quality Advisory.
This year, three Heat Warnings and one Air Quality Advisory were declared for the region, including Richmond. For each of these, the City took proactive actions focusing on people’s safety and assisting in reducing health risks.
The City implemented measure including activating cooling/clean air centres and misting stations throughout the City, as well as increasing safety messaging on its social media channels and website.
From now until Sunday, October 2, visit LetsTalkRichmond.ca to get more information and complete a short survey to share thoughts on the City’s heat and poor air quality response.
This information will contribute to the City’s after action review and direct efforts for emergency planning, response and recovery in Richmond moving forward.
