Apply to vote by mail
With a mail ballot, you can vote from anywhere in the world. Please provide your name and residential address to the Richmond Elections Office as soon as possible so we can verify if you are on the Voters List. If you are not on the Voters List, you can still vote by mail, and we will provide you with a registration form.
In addition, please let us know the mailing address of where you expect to receive the mail ballot (this can be anywhere in the world).
All applications to vote by mail must be submitted to the Richmond Elections Office no later than 4:00 pm on General Voting Day (Saturday, October 20, 2018).
The Richmond Elections Office will mail you the ballot as soon as it is ready.
Any ballots cast through the mail ballot process must be returned to the Chief Election Officer no later than 8:00 p.m. (PST) on Saturday, October 20, 2018 in order to be counted. It is your responsibility to ensure that your ballot has been provided to the Chief Election Officer by the deadline noted.
Please note that the return envelope to the Richmond Elections Office already includes postage if you will be mailing from within Canada. If you will be mailing from outside of Canada, you will have to purchase the appropriate postage.
