Voting Day Information
Your Voting Plan
Check if you are already registered to vote.
Use the Am I on the Voters List? tool at richmond.ca/elections or in the 2018 Richmond Election app. If you're not registered, you can register when you vote by bringing two pieces of ID. Have a look at the list of acceptable IDs.
Find out where and when to vote.
Learn more about advance voting opportunities, mail ballots, and General Voting Day (Saturday, October 20). To find out where to vote on General Voting Day, use the Where do I vote? tool at richmond.ca/elections, check the 2018 Richmond Election app (available on Apple and Android devices), or see your voter card (you may receive one in mid-September).
Review the candidates' profiles.
Candidate profiles are statements written by each candidate, and are now available online, in the Voter's Guide, or in the 2018 Richmond Election app.
Encourage your friends and family to vote.
Share election information with them and discuss your views. If your friends and family see you voting, they are more likely to vote. Make sure to pick up an "I Voted" sticker after you vote, and share your experiences with your friend, family and the rest of Richmond (use the hashtag #rmdelxn)! You may take selfies outside of the voting place. However, please do not record anything (photo, audio, video) inside the voting place to respect everyone's privacy, as well as the election process.
You may bring a list of the candidates you intend to vote for on a piece of paper, check the 2018 Richmond Election app, or view richmond.ca/elections at the voting place using your mobile device.
Find out the election results.
After 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, find out whom Richmond voters have democratically elected to serve in office for the next four years via the 2018 Richmond Election app or at richmond.ca/elections.
