Please direct complaints regarding improper election sign placement to the Community Bylaws Department at 604-276-4345 or email email@example.com.
Election and Political Signs Bylaw ( Bylaw 8713) was adopted to regulate the placement of election and political signs. The bylaw is provided as part of the Nomination and Candidate Information package and is also published under City Bylaws on this website.
A Guide to Election Sign Placement has also been produced as a general overview of the bylaw regulations. Have a look at the maps of each voting place for Advance Voting Days and General Voting Day, which show the 100‐metre zone around each voting place.
For the 2018 General Local and School Election, signs may be erected starting on September 4, 2018 and must be taken down no later than October 27, 2018.
The Local Government Act also regulates the placement of signs and the conduct of campaign activity at the time of voting. Campaign signs and activity are not permitted within 100 metres of a voting place at the time of voting.
