Vinyl wrap of retouched archival image of Steveston dock in 1942 with colour and image manipulation installed around a pump station.
Artist Statement:
Steveston is rich with recorded history dating back to the early 1900's and even earlier. The subject matter for my artworks primarily includes modern and historical local architecture, streetscapes, landscapes, as well as abstract forms. So creating artwork for Steveston was a perfect fit. I tend to use both archival photographs and those that I take directly and then manipulate these pictures to raise or hide light and shadows; flattening or creating depth in the image; and modernizing them using vibrant colours.
