Description of Work:
Vinyl wrap of archival image of female works in Gulf of Georgia Cannery that is installed around an electrical box.
Artist Statement:
Steveston is rich with recorded history dating back to the early 1900's and even earlier. The subject matter for my artworks primarily includes modern and historical local architecture, streetscapes, landscapes, as well as abstract forms. So creating artwork for Steveston was a perfect fit. I tend to use both archival photographs and those that I take directly and then manipulate these pictures to raise or hide light and shadows; flattening or creating depth in the image; and modernizing them using vibrant colours.
